New multiple private networks functionality

At Clouding, until now you had access to both the public network and the option to use a private network, which only your servers connected to for exchanging information among themselves.

We have evolved this feature and now you can create as many private networks as you need within the same Clouding account:

• You will have greater security by separating your servers into different networks. This separation makes the networks more resistant to attacks since they are not interconnected nor do they have direct access to the Internet. However, your cloud server will maintain an Internet connection through another interface.

• You will enjoy better performance by dividing network traffic into different private networks. It’s like having several highways instead of just one, everything flows better! (traffic within private networks is free).

• Everything will be more organized and with simplified management. You can assign private networks to different departments or projects to facilitate management and monitoring. Moreover, if you work with various clients, create a private network for each one to ensure their data is isolated.

• More customization: create, delete, and modify your private networks according to your needs. You will also be able to select the IP range that will be assigned to each of them. Although private IP ranges will be used by default, now you will have the freedom to choose the range that best suits your network configuration.

• You will gain flexibility: we have improved our firewall profile functionality so you can configure them by network interface instead of by server. This allows you to apply different firewall profiles to the public interface of a server and to each interface connected to your private networks.

To allow you to test this functionality over time, it will be free from now until October 1st, 2024. Starting October 1st, 2024 (inclusive), each private network will have a maximum cost of €1/month. In other words, we will only charge for the time the network is active, up to a maximum of €1 per month (and the cost will be the same whether you assign the network to multiple servers or not).

For instance, if your network is active for 10 days, you will only pay for those days, not a cent more! This charge is made to ensure proper use of this feature and prevent abuse on the platform.
